Today we did SSR for 25 minutes (make sure to keep track of the books you are reading!!) and then I handed out a set of "Academic Vocabulary" terms (on irony and ambiguity) and we reviewed these terms.  Make sure to place this sheet, along with the previous Academic Vocabulary sheets that have been handed out, in your English notebook.

Next, we listened to /read the story "The Lady, or the Tiger?" (pages 360-366 in Big Purple).  Homework for Friday, Feb. 22: Answer all of the yellow-boxed questions (there are 5) in the margins of this story AND questions #1-10 on page 367.
